<p>“Let’s celebrate!” We’d been working with Freedom Credit Union since 2018 when they told us they wanted to make a splash for their 100th anniversary in 2023 (a tremendous achievement). We responded in no uncertain terms—we were ready to dive in.</p>

<p>Rather than do a standard (read: boring) anniversary campaign, we focused on what made Freedom Credit Union stand out from the competition: it’s mission-inspired motto, “People Helping People.” Unlike banks that are out to make a profit, Freedom returns its profits to members in the form of high rates on deposit accounts, low rates on loans and low or no fees for its services. To drive home Freedom Credit Union’s difference, our campaign highlighted its 100 years of “unbanking.”</p>

<p>We produced an unforgettable 2-minute anniversary video that brought the idea of unbanking to life, tying it to Freedom’s extraordinary history with some clever wordplay. We edited the video for use as paid commercials on broadcast TV and streaming media and created complementary radio and Meta ads. In addition, we employed press releases, pitches and media alerts to garner coverage of the anniversary and some of the celebratory events. Engaging social posts throughout the year kept the excitement going.</p>

We earned significant media coverage, including several feature articles, about the anniversary itself, as well as some of the many celebratory events and initiatives held throughout the year. Needless to say, the client, as well as its members and stakeholders, was pleased—rather unbelievably so.</p>
