Since its inception in 2009, the annual Kids Safety Expo has been benefiting the greater Springfield, Massachusetts community with an abundance of free resources to keep kids safe while having fun, and give their parents peace of mind. This year marked a very important milestone, our 5th annual event produced by Market Mentors! Throughout the course of my career, I have been producing child safety events for almost two decades, and this past Saturday was by far the best event ever.

The 5th Annual Kids Safety Expo took place at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Saturday, July 20, 2013. At this year’s event, over 300 children completed MYCHIP (Masonic Youth Child Identification Program) and over 500 children received free bicycle helmets compliments of title sponsor, Libbos Law. Additionally, several local businesses helped to contribute safety resources including Health New England, BMC HealthNet, Baystate Children’s Hospital, O’Connell Care at Home, the Safe Kids Coalition of western Massachusetts, City Tire, Small Smalls, the Springfield police and fire departments and many more. All of us at Market Mentors are so proud to be working with responsible local businesses that are dedicated to giving back to their community, thank you for your support! Pictures of the event have been posted to our Facebook page, and website, take a look and ‘like us’ to stay in touch.

Both WWLP and WGGB were on onsite to capture the event, which made waves in the local news. Check out the broadcast clips below and be looking for our announcement in early summer 2014 for the 6th Annual Kids Safety Expo.
